New appointment to HTA Board strengthens landscape representation

Mark Gregory, the vice chairman of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), has been appointed to the HTA Board.

Mark, who is Managing Director of Landform Consultants, concentrates on high-end private gardens and landscapes and also specialises in the construction of show gardens for The RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows. He has almost 80 medal winning gardens to his name, including 12 Gold Medals at Chelsea. His dynamic approach and energy have built his reputation in the landscaping community for innovation and technical expertise.

Alongside his role as vice chair of the APL he is chair of the judging panel for the APL Awards and is also a co-director of The London College of Garden Design

Caroline Owen, President of the HTA, said, “We recognise the enormous significance of landscaping within the garden industry and this new appointment will help to strengthen the representation of the sector on the HTA Board. Mark is a highly respected and successful landscaper and I and my colleagues welcome him to the Board.”

The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) is the trade association for the UK garden industry. It is dedicated to helping develop the industry and its member businesses, including most garden centres and other garden retailers, growers, landscapers, manufacturers and service providers.

The HTA was founded in 1899. Its key roles include: the management of the National Garden Gift Voucher scheme; provision of advice-based services such as business improvement schemes, briefings and help lines; training for members; a central buying service; marketing services such as the Garden Industry Monitor and the PlantforLife promotion initiative; and working closely with government to influence policy and projects.
